Potty Trained!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, sorry I haven't updated in forever. Again, we still have dial-up and I just don't have the patients for this. Plus AJ has to give me a minute to actually update. Anyway, WARNING, this is definitely a brag post.

Now for the important part, the update!! AJ, in my opinion, is officially potty trained. He is 23 months and 3 days old. Last night he took his first poop in the potty. We were thrilled. Of course we went all crazy jumping and laughing and singing. I am so proud of him. He has been sleeping in his "Lighting McQueen" under-roos for the past 3 nights without any accidents. (He didn't even have the plastic pad under him, do not panic, I went to K-mart yesterday and found one big enough for a full bed) He had been going through the night without a wet dipe for a while now. He still has his occasional accidents during the day when he's too busy to pay attention but for the most part he'll look at us and say "pee-pee potty mommy/GG" and off we go. Running for the potty. We've even taken him out this week only wearing his underwear and he's done fine. He's waited until we got home to potty. I am taking his little seat with us though. One time last week mom and I went to Bob Evan's so we could eat breakfast. AJ had to potty and that big potty FREAKED HIM OUT. I was so worried about him peeing himself and the fact that I forgot to pack extra clothes I forgot I had diapers in the car. (DUH) After mom and I had alternated about 10 times attempting to take him to the potty a lady across the aisle so graciously offered to give me one of her daughters diapers. It was then, and only then did I realize I had diapers in the diaper bag. Good grief. I ran to the car and got a dipe and the poor thing was so confused. He knew he was supposed to pee in the potty and I hated having to tell him to "go ahead and pee, you have a diaper on." Anyway, from that point forward I do have extra pants, underwear, and diapers in the diaper bag as well as his potty seat in a bag. I figure I can place it on the public toilet (even though that seriously creeps me out) and when we get home I'll dunk it in straight vinegar.
I do have to tell ya though, I learned real quick that you do have to help aim Mr. Peter. One day I was sitting in front of him while he sat on his potty seat. All of a sudden it was like a water hose let loose. I was soaked. All over my arm, all over my shirt and pants. It was crazy funny. AJ didn't know what to do with my reaction and I was stuck between praising him for peeing in the potty(or attempting rather) or being totally grossed out my kid just whizzed on me. Praising won, I got him off the pot and raced upstairs to clean up. From that point forward I do help aim Mr. Peter DOWN so it goes where it needs to go.

Just to help give you a little better visual, AJ has a little ring that goes on top of the big potty seat. He does not use the "potty chair" because the one I bought has a little plastic pee guard that sticks up and is supposed to help catch the boy pee-pee. Every time he tried to sit down on that chair that little hard plastic piece would squish Mr. Cock and Balls. AJ did NOT like that one bit. Made me cringe a time or two but hey, live and learn right??? He likes little Sesame Street potty ring much better.

Well, I guess that's all the hoop-la I can possibly spring for pee/poo. :0) I'm so proud of my little man. Can't believe I'll have a two year old on my hands. I will attempt to update more a little later. It's 78 degrees at 1145 and I'm going to get my little man a little dirty. Time to go play outside in the dirt God gave us!!! Have a blessed day guys.

Wow! That's truly advanced. You should be proud! We decided not to even attempt potty training until Wes turns 3. So many moms of boys have said it takes them longer, and we'd rather wait and do it quickly than drag the whole potty-training thing out, 'ya know? I didn't realize you were back on your blog! Good to have you back!
