My First Mei Tie

I DID IT!! Took me 3 hours but I stuck with it and made my first Mei Tie. What is that you ask?? Well, it is a carrier so I can carry AJ either on my front or on my back. I already use a ring sling with him and it makes it so much easier to have both hands but he's starting to get too heavy for that.

With this carrier, I can put him on my back while I'm cooking. He likes to be in the action but I don't like him near the hot stove and all. Plus when we go out, I can just throw him on my back and be done. I took a set of practice pics with Pooh Bear last night. I suppose I'll get brave and actually put my child in it at some point today. AJ found the cover fabric that I used. We were standing in Wal-Mart and he starts screaming "BAWS BAWS BAWS" (balls) I had to buy it for him. His dad likes it too. Jason likes to wear AJ while we clean. ( The wet spot on one of the straps is from where I peed myself I was so excited!! Actually it is a wet spot from the iron)

Good job!! Looks great! Sorry to hear about your realtor. I know Nikole and can understand your frustration. Hope talk to you soon,

Wow! I gotta get me one of those thingies! Too bad I can barely sew a button! I have two Baby Bjorn carriers (bought one and then received one as a gift with Wesley), but I hardly ever used it. Took too long to get him hooked up, and he outgrew it very quickly. I haven't tried it with Anna Kate yet, but I need to, because the girl likes to be held! You're such a great hands-on mom! (which is ironic, since we're talking about something that lets you be hands-off!).

I thought Mai Tie was a drink, haha. Shows how much I know about things or should I say shows where my mind is at! Robin

Karen: thanks for the sympathy. The woman still hasn't picked up her signs OR her locked box (roll eyes)

Hannah: I love my carriers. AJ has not liked to be put down since he flew out the chute. The child has always liked being held. At one point, he would only sleep on my chest, he would NOT go down, be it on the floor, couch, bassinet, crib or bed. It drove me nuts. It's so nice to be able to have my hands free. Plus, when I'm in a hurry to do something, like pick up before the realtor comes over or whatever, he gets kind of weirded out. I throw him in my sling or now on my back and I can run through the house to pick up real quick. It's SO nice. The other thing too, the grocery store. He won't sit still in the cart and I do NOT like the thought of him walking up and down those isles. It only takes a second and my heart could not withstand him getting lost or taken. Even if he just walked around the isle I think I would die of a stroke. That stuff just freaks me out.

Robin: I knew I loved you for a reason!!!

OMG! I want one of those. Heck, I'd pay you to make me one! Do you have any of that fabric left?

Hey coz,
I thought it way a drink too. Then I thought about you taking 3 hours to make one and I know you are smarter than that so I looked alittle farther and saw what it was. It's really cool especially since I know you don't like to so.
